1954 edition, 1963 printing | | Annotations: |
The 1954 revision of the Bookbinding manual held closely to Stacy Wood's 1940 version, following its organization and even reproducing it word-for-word for long stretches. Some major blunders in the 1940 version were corrected; for instance a section on gluing the spine and rounding and backing the book (mysteriously left out by Wood) was added, a slightly better method of casing-in is used, and the manual no longer suggests tearing out the outer of single-fold tipped end papers if the paper is soiled. The 1954 version was reprinted virtually without change until at least 1963, but was replaced by 1969 by an anonymous version (listed here under Boy Scouts as author) | | Condition: |
