The American Bookbinders Museum is open Mon-Fri 10-4 pm. Tours will be given at 10 am and 2 pm daily. We welcome inquiries regarding the Museum’s collections and upcoming events.

Take a quick look to learn more from our Founder, Tim James.

In late 2013 we moved into our permanent home at 856 Folsom St.  We are thrilled and are working hard on the building in order to open to the public this summer 2015.

Our facility includes spacious exhibit space to view and operate the full collection of 18th and 19th Century Bookbinding equipment.  Our library and archive collections are currently being cataloged and housed in our climate controlled facility. As soon as the dust settles we will begin digitizing several thousand pieces of ephemera, pattern papers and equipment manuals enabling access for all.

We look forward to engaging with you more throughout the year. Please connect with us and we will send you updates, information on events and our newsletter.
