The American Bookbinders Museum is currently closed for renovation. Work is expected to continue for the next several months culminating in a grand re-opening of the Museum in May 2015. In the interim, we welcome inquiries regarding the Museum’s collections and upcoming events. Be sure to find us February 6-8 at the California International Antiquarian Book Fair in Oakland.
Take a quick look to learn more from our Founder, Tim James.
In late 2013 we moved into our permanent home at 856 Folsom St. We are thrilled and are working hard on the building in order to open to the public in spring 2015.
Our facility will include spacious exhibit space to view and operate the full collection of 18th and 19th Century Bookbinding equipment. Our library and archive collections are currently being cataloged and will have permanent and proper homes in the remodeled facility. We are also working on our plan for digitizing the collection to enable access globally.
We look forward to engaging with you more throughout the year. Please check back here for updates and for a grand opening date to come! Or connect with us and we will send you updates, information on events and our newsletter.
